Tech. Sgt. Gabriel Rosario, Non-commissioned Officer in Charge of the Phoenix Raven Qualification Course, 421st Combat Training Squadron, provides an overview of the Phoenix Raven Qualification Course to Lt. Gen. Brad Webb, commander of Air Education and Training Command, during his visit to the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey on Sept. 18, 2020. Implemented in February 1997 and launched at the then Air Mobility Warfare Center, at Fort Dix, the Phoenix Raven Program ensures protection for Air Mobility Command aircraft operating out of airfields where security is unknown or inadequate. Teams of specially trained and equipped security forces personnel, known as Ravens deploy onboard AMC aircraft. Webb and Chief Master Sgt. Erik Thompson, Command Chief Master Sergeant, Headquarters AETC, visited the USAF EC to gain a better understanding of the Center’s mission as the Air Force's Center of excellence for Rapid Global Mobility and expeditionary Agile Combat Support training and education, while also providing direct oversight for the Global Air Mobility Support System and installation support, contingency response, and building partnership capacity mission sets within the global mobility enterprise.
