‘Guardian’ of Airmen: Devil Raider embraces wingman concept amidst COVID-19

Airman 1st Class Shakera Wilson, 621st Contingency Response Squadron aerial porter, holds up a coin and a handwritten thank you card from Chief Master Sgt. Tony Jenkins, 621st Contingency Response Wing command chief, at her dorm at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. The letter states “Shakera, Just wanted to say thanks for taking care of our Airmen and welcoming a new one to our wing. Your kindness is what makes this Air Force great. Col. Jackson and I are proud to have you in this wing and call you a Devil Raider! – Chief Jenkins.” Wilson was recognized for her efforts to support her fellow wingmen since COVID-19 has sent many Americans into self-quarantine to slow the potential spread of the virus.
