On Nov. 15-16, 2024, Team Hickam welcomed the public for the first time in 15 years during the Wings of Aloha Open House. The event celebrated the connection between the Air Force and the local community, providing a firsthand look at its mission, capabilities, and people.

Among the standout attractions, the 735th Air Mobility Squadron showcased its critical role in global air mobility operations, offering attendees an up-close look at its mission and the 60K Tunner cargo loader.

“The 60K Tunner is not just a machine; it’s the backbone of our operations,” said U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Gavyn Hinojosa, an air freight technician with the 735 AMS. “Sharing what we do with the community helps them understand how our work directly impacts mobility missions worldwide.”

The open house was more than a display of equipment—it served as a platform to connect with the local community and inspire the next generation. Students attending the Wings of Aloha Student Expo explored aircraft, interacted with Airmen, and discovered potential career paths within the U.S. Air Force.

“Our team is always ready to share our story and demonstrate the professionalism that drives our mission every day,” said U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Lisa DeWalt, 735 AMS commander. “Events like this allow us to connect with our neighbors and highlight how the 735 AMS supports airpower across the Indo-Pacific.”

The event embodied the spirit of teamwork and community, showcasing the broader mission of Team Hickam while highlighting the dedication and expertise of its Airmen. Contributions from units such as the 647th Security Forces Squadron, 15th Medical Group, and 15th Maintenance Group made the event possible, offering attendees a deeper appreciation for the Air Force’s impact and the Airmen who support its mission.
