Col. Shane Rogers is the Deputy Commander, U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. The Expeditionary Center is the Air Force's preeminent authority for expeditionary operations and supports Air Mobility Command's worldwide mission of providing Rapid Global Mobility to America's armed forces. With more than 14,000 Airmen, the Expeditionary Center is comprised of the Air Force Expeditionary Operations School, five AMC wings and two stand alone groups, including 515th Air Mobility Operations Wing, 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing, 87th Air Base Wing, 628th Air Base Wing, 621st Contingency Response Wing, 43rd Air Mobility Operations Group, and 627th Air Base Group. These units span the globe operating 24/7 in 42 locations across 24 countries ensuring global air mobility support, installation support, contingency response and building partnership capacity.
Col. Rogers began his military career as a 2001 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and has several subsequent Degrees. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in May 2001 and is a senior pilot with over 3,000 hours in the T-37B, T-1A, T-6A and KC-135R/T. Col Rogers grew up in Willcox, AZ.
Col. Rogers' previous assignment was the Senior Military Assistant to the Deputy Chair of the NATO Military Committee. He supported the DCMC in his role in assisting the Chair as principal advisor to the NATO Secretary General and senior military spokesperson of the 31-nation alliance. He also supported the DCMC in advising the Deputy Secretary General, leading coordination of nuclear, biological and chemical matters, and regarding daily operations and the business of the Military Committee, NATO’s highest military authority.
