CMSgt Tony B. Jenkins serves as the 87th Air Base Wing Command Chief Master Sergeant, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. As senior enlisted leader of the Department of Defense’s only tri-service joint base, he is the principle advisor to the installation commander. The wing provides mission support, civil engineering, and medical services to more than 88 mission partners and 52,000 active duty, reserve, guard, civilian, retiree and family members residing on the joint base with an infrastructure valued at $9 billion. He is entrusted with the combat readiness, organization, training, professional development and effective utilization of more than 1,200 Airmen and Sailors. Additionally, he is the functional manager of 21 First Sergeants who maintain a mission-ready force and support the military community’s quality-of-life needs.
CMSgt Jenkins is originally from Florida and enlisted in the Air Force in 1997. Since joining the Air Force, he has served as a KC-10A Avionics Technician, an HC-130P/N and MC-130P Evaluator Flight Engineer, and a C-17A Loadmaster. He has served overseas in Okinawa and stateside in California, Georgia, New Mexico, Texas, South Carolina, and Florida. He has flown combat missions in Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, and INHERENT RESOLVE.
